Prehypertensive Blood Pressure

Hello: I’ve experienced an increase in Blood Pressure compared to my previous measurements 6, 9 & 12 months ago. Previous measurements were at or under 120/80 (at dentist and routine physical). My recent BP (at home) has come in between 137/78 and 141/85 using two different machines. I did just finish 7 days of work with switches between night/day. The only noticeable change in lifestyle/diet in the past 6 months is pre/post workout supplements and I’ve gained another 8 pounds. I started with the Peri RX (no caffeine) Then switched to bulk supplements when the no caffeine peri wasn’t available.

  1. Could these supplements, combined or individually have an impact on my BP?

  2. Should I limit the number of days I supplement per week?

I have recently started supplementing with the following:

BCAA 2:1:1
Beta Alanine
Betaine Anhydrous
Creatine Monohydrate
HMB
L-Citrulline DL Malate 2:1

I Supplement on workout days 3-5 days per week.
I’m 73”, tall 205 lb, 27 BMI, 35 inch waist.
I’m and airline pilot so my diet while traveling is generally higher in sodium. In addition I flip between nights and days, and time zones.

B,

1 and 2) No, I don’t think so.

I would be curious as to if your home blood pressure machine is calibrated and has the appropriate cuff size for you. I’d also want to know what your BP looks like over the course of a day. You might bring up this concern with your doctor to get an ambulatory blood pressure monitor for a few days.

Of course, it is possible there’s something in the new supplement that wasn’t there previously, but I don’t necessarily know if that’s true. I could just tell you to buy more of our stuff since it’s now in stock LOL
