Acute effects on blood pressure

Are there any factors that would acutely affect blood pressure? For instance, a heavy resistance training session, caffeine, or Peri-Rx. I have a physical coming up on Friday, and would not like to skew the reading.

All exercise causes blood pressure to increase during exercise, but post workout blood pressure rapidly falls to baseline or, for a short period of time, below baseline (this is known as post exercise hypotension).

No ingredient in Peri Rx increases blood pressure. Caffeine can increase blood pressure if you do not consume it regularly.

BP was 114/76

Thanks Jordan. Eight years of following your programming and nutrition advice seem to working out for me.

That’s really cool, Rob. Did you previously have high blood pressure?

I don’t think my blood pressure was ever what you’d call high, but it was definitely trending in the wrong direction. In my twenties it was textbook 120/80. After gaining about 20lbs on the SSLP with GOMAD, it was 129/86 with a 40” waist. I read every single post in your nutrition sub forum, ran the 3 day Hypertrophy and a version of your 4 day press template, and now I’m about 15lbs heavier with a 37” waist, lower blood pressure, and stronger too.

Keep up up the good work, and thanks for all that you do.
