I’m going on a relatively intense cut for 6-7 weeks (1.5-2lbs/wk goal loss @ 178 starting BW). I’ve been training using “good” programs for a bit over 6 months, but am still quite weak. Absolute best sets I’ve put up put my e1rms at ~185 bench, 292 squat/DL, 121 press.
From what I gather hypertrophy based programs tend to be preffered while trying to lose fat. However I’m not sure if something like the 4 day hypertrophy program is preferable to something designed for a less advanced lifter (like the bridge 3.0).
So based off this information, what program would likely serve me best? Goals are to get stronger in B/S/D/P while staying lean, but fairly certain I need to gain a bit of muscle to maximize this in the long term. More importantly, I’m curious what components of the program make that program ideal for my situation. Programming is still a mystery to me and I’m always trying to learn.
