Programming Overhead Squats and Issues with Push Presses

Hey Guys -

Can’t say enough good things about the Titan Template. It’s been a great change of pace.

One issue I have always had historically with the snatch is that I have always been able to power more than I can snatch full. I have also always been pretty weak with overhead squats. Would there be anythingg particularly wrong with subbing in Overhead Squats in place of the Day 2 squats programmed in Titan?

Secondly, I am absolutely terrible with the push press relative to my strict press strength. Generally, my push press is only about 15-20lbs higher than when I press strict. I would think I should be able to do way, way more than that. Is this likely a technique issue on the dip/drive? Any recommendations would be great. I reset each push press from the front rack position… no rebounding or anything like that.

What are you currently snatching, push pressing, and pressing? This may just be a familiarity thing versus anything requiring specific, unique management.

Power Snatching like 135lbs right now it’s been years since I trained it regularly. Last time I trained it seriously best power snatch was 200. Best full snatch 175-185?

Last night strict pressed 150 for 6s at 8-9. Push press is at like 165 for one good set of 5 @9.
