to maximize hypertrophy, do you recommend caloric intake if maintenance or 250-500 above?
for BB 2 routine, for protein intake the accompanying text says 1.6 g/kg daily but then summary also says protein intake from 1.3-3.1 g/kg per day, that is a very large range so how much do you recommend?
in a cut where we are in deficit do we need higher or the same protein?

For these questions:
Maximal hypertrophy is likely achieved at large surpluses, but unfortunately is accompanied by lots of body fat. A small surplus is reasonable and likely to produce more hypertrophy than a deficit or maintenance.
I am very comfortable with the protein intake range in the text. Anywhere in there is fine, with 1.6g/kg/d being a very specific recommendation so people don’t have to guess.
You do not need more protein than this in a deficit.
Sorry for the delay. Haven’t been on here in a while
for some reason I haven’t really gained weight or size in last few months. I have started the Bb2 routine and now going into the third block. I had really good results with bb1 but not much so far with bb2. I think the main issue may be I’m just not eating enough every day, meaning eating under or at maintenance. Probably maintenance as weight is stagnant. I am going to now just increase calories by 200 and eat 200 above and maybe aim for 1 lb weight gain a week or 0.5 lb and see how it goes
