I am 78 years old and just started levothyroxin for underactive thyroid. It has seemed to help my Vitamin D absorption. My recent bloodwork my eGFR was down but my doctor didn’t seem too concerned. Hoping the Levo may help my kidney function. My daily average protein intake is right around 100g. I work out on a modified 4 day upper/lower split. Average about 15-18 sets per muscle group weekly. I take most sets to within 2-3 rir and on some exercises I will go to failure on last set only. Is this enough protein for me to at least maintain what muscle I have.
Hi!
This may be sufficient, but you did not tell us your bodyweight, which would be helpful.
Sorry. I am 5’8” with a body weight of 175
Got it. That puts you at about 1.25 g per kg bodyweight, which is fine for your maintenance goal.
