Good afternoon Doc!
As fas as I’m concerned, your current recommendations for protein intake are wide (1.6 - 3 g per kg of BW). I’ve been seriously training for the past 4 months after 2 years of being sedentary. I’m 1.75 cm tall, went from 113 kg to 97 kg in those 4 months, waist circumference is 100 cm atm. I’m aiming to get to at least 88 kg BW, which would put me below the 37 inches waist, after that I’ll see if I can get lower, who knows…
In this thread, you mention you recommend that people who are actively dieting (my case) to be on the higher end of protein intake.
Is there really such a difference between 1.6g per kg bw and say 2.2g per kg bw? I ask this because I can do fine in the 1.6 g -1.8 g range, but when I try to up it a bit more, I usually stall on the weight loss. I’m having a hard time cutting more on the carbohydrates than I already have.
Just wanted to get your opinion on this.
Thanks!
