Quad strain - Just happened a a few hours back, what to do going forward?

Hi guys, I was playing some futsal a few hours ago, and after some light warmup I tried to pass the ball and immediately felt something in my quad muscles (not sure which). I couldn’t continue as it was quite an acute type of pain where kicking the ball with the side of my foot was painful to the thigh. I read some descriptions online and I think it might be a grade 2 quad strain (sore while putting pressure, pain when straightening knees with force holding the leg back)

Any suggestions on how to get about it? Following your content for quite sometime and I get the idea that it probably wouldn’t be the best for me to just stop my strength training for the weeks it would take until it heals. But I don’t want to aggravate it either. (I’m not even sure which exercises will be affected by this)

For reference I just finished the beginner template last week, and was planning to start a new cycle with the same template (in the middle of week 1)

We laid out an approach here. I would start there and it is likely you’ll be back to training without much additional issue. If you find yourself having issues, I would reach out for a consult.
