Replacement for eggs?

I’ve tried three different brands and apparently I can’t eat liquid egg whites (cooked of course) without having diarrhea within an hour or so. What is a good replacement for eggs in the morning? I don’t think I’ll be able to stick to having a protein shake with my oatmeal every morning and chicken is for the afternoon. I’m thinking I might have to just suck it up and learn to enjoy a shake in the morning but I thought I’d ask in case there is some obvious option I am not thinking of. Also, what is it about eggs that causes diarrhea? I was really enjoying my eggs/veggie omelets in the morning and it was helping me reach my protein goals with something other than chicken breasts and powder. Damn.

What about regular eggs and not boxed egg whites? Are you having cheese with your omelette?

You could use Greek yogurt, tuna, lean meats of any kinds…

Well I was eating 460 grams of egg whites every day, (half w/breakfast and half at night) which gave me 50 grams of protein. I think I’d have to eat 8 real eggs (6 grams protein per egg) to get near the same amount of protein. Wouldn’t that be excessive? I’m admittedly confused on whether real eggs are good or bad for health. From what I have heard it’s generally okay to eat about one or two eggs per day and anything more than that is not recommended. I don’t add cheese to my eggs and I eat greek yogurt (Oikos Triple Zero) at lunch and after work already, I’d rather not have to eat it for breakfast too, don’t want to burn out on any one food.

Excessive how? The fat content for a whole egg would be a potential confounder here calorie wise, but to get 50g of protein from egg whites you’re looking at about 12 egg whites. I don’t think you need that in a single meal, but it’d be fine if you did.

There are no foods that are “good” or “bad” for health in isolation.

That is bullshittery.

Each egg contains 187g cholesterol. So, in your opinion, 1496 mg/day of cholesterol is not unhealthy despite the daily max recommended cholesterol being 300mg/day? Are the concerns surrounding cholesterol bullshittery too? My LDL has gone from 148 to 114 after losing a lot of weight but it is still elevated so it is something I am concerned with.

You can separate the yolks from the whites if you like- just depends on your dietary goals.

I do not know if you need to limit your dietary cholesterol, but it would be relatively rare if you did. I think calorie intake and its subsequent effect on body weight, body fat, etc. is more important than dietary cholesterol.

Juris I eat 6 eggs a day on top of my normal milk / chicken / beef etc. the 6 eggs can get you pretty full so I just treat them like a meal along with a shake
