Rest times - to increase metabolic or to lift the most weight?

givwn I’ve run bb1 a few times and am advanced trainer, I am following the advice of resting 3 min between every set, compound movements but even isolation ones and bicep curls rtc

do you think I should shorten it to 1.5 min or 2 min rest, to increase metabolic stress etc or 3 min rest is best since it would allow me to lift the most weight?

I don’t think that reducing the rest periods significantly increases metabolic stress, mostly because it limits the weight that can be used and the volume that is performed. Together, these help make up training load.
