For health people Corona isnt a big deal, but what about the risk group, me as a example. Male, 31 years old, asthma(I am not from US, third world country). Do you think go to gym in an country where ongoing widespread sustained transmission is advisable? or people like me, in those scenario should avoid crowded space as much as possible? been more specific the gym
It sounds like you’re likely to be exposed to this virus in your country whether you go to the gym or not, but the priority should be to make sure your asthma is as well-controlled as possible.
I see, my asthma is well managed. I am trying not to get the disease in the first wave, avoiding the chaos of the health care system, discovering how to deal with the virus. Plus the country/state doesnt have many UCI slots, so… I am trying to delaying as much as possible a infection. For that, I am planning to cut some group activities:
dancing classes 3/wk to 1 time per week
jiu jitsu 1/wk to 0
gym - 4/wk to 4/wk, but change to 1 am, all cardios will be in at gym
do you think that am I overthinking? Should I focus only in the simple/baisics things like, take my asthma medication on time, sleep well, eat well, wash hands, dont touch my face, exercise, etc…?
If those make you feel better / safer, that’s fine. I just can’t give you any strong evidence-based answers regarding how much you may be reducing your risk, if any. I certainly agree with the basics you list, though! Sorry we can’t be of more help with specifics here.
yeah no problem, thanks doc. Its difficult to know what to do when you are in the risk group since most people arent, not too much info. I will see the doctor who treat my asthma next week, and see what he have to say. Thanks again anyway
