Rotator cuff tendonopathy rehab

My wife recently went to the physician and she was diagnosed rotator cuff tendonopathy. The physician notoced a slight tear on a rotator cuff tendon on the posterior side ( that is what my wife stated), so infraspinatus or teres minor or both. Not entirely sure. The physician recommended PT, and she is now following the PT’s suggested eercises. Would you have any additional exercises or reccomendations in general the could be beneficial?

Sorry to hear that your wife is having shoulder trouble. We are going to need some more information as to what is going on including:

What caused you guys to go into the physician? Was there an event that brought on some symptoms in the shoulder? If there are symptoms to the shoulder, what are they? How long has this been going on for? Does your wife train/exercise? How did the physician come to the conclusion of a rotator cuff tear (special testing/imaging/palpation/other)? What is the route that the PT is currently taking her through? Is it helping?

I think that these answers will help to better point you in a good direction.

Thanks!

Vigilll,

How’s your wife doing lately? Did she sustain any acute traumas that brought on the visit to the physician or during initial onset 6 months prior? How old is she? How’s rehab going?

She has been much better. Mobility, and strength have improved. It is still a bit painful to move in certain directions, but overall much better. Thanks for asking

Great! Glad to hear she is improving. Keep us posted.
