Hey BBM crew! I’m about to switch over my training program to Beginner Template (sadly I discovered Starting Strength before BBM!) and wondered if a Concept2 erg/rowing machine was okay to use for GPP cardio. I think this isn’t the case, but I wondered if maybe the level of emphasis a rowing machine places on your quads and lower body in general might be too much to combine with frequent squats/deadlifts. Would be very grateful for any guidance!
Yep, no problem with the rower for conditioning. I don’t think rowing is more fatiguing than other conditioning modes generally speaking. That said, learning to row efficiently is a good idea. We have some tips here:
