Self treating patella pain.

Assuming the problem is only occasional and directly related to exercise, in this case squatting, is there any objective evidence therapys like *deep tissue massage massage around the LCL, ACL and patella tendon have any value in terms of pain relief or healing a minor tendon / ligament a strain?

*In this case, DIY massage stick and possibly a sliced up bicycle inner tube version of voodo floss.

“Objective” evidence? What would that look like in this case?

On reflection, I’d imagine would mean something involving a large research grant and a whole bunch of people with jumpers knee holding rubber bands / massage sticks queued up at the MRI machine for starters… So yeah, probably not…

Put it this way, in your professional opinion / experience, do these treatments offer any advantage over just letting the injury heal by itself?

The only way I can see them providing benefit is if they made you feel comfortable enough to move around and get back to training sooner.

So … may as well skip the bullshit and just get back to training.

Cheers mate.

I’ll cancel my acupuncture appointment also…
