Single Leg RDL - Barbell vs. Dumbbell

I like the Single Leg RDL exercise because it trains many things at the same time, such as strength, balance and mobility.

Right now I’m doing 10 reps with a 32 kg kettlebell, but I’ll need to increase the weight soon, and I’m not sure how to do it best.

Do you think it would be best to start using my barbell, or should I buy a 40 KG Rogue Rubber Hex Dumbbell?

I would be using the barbell now and going forward unless you have much heavier DB’s, KB’s or a way to load this exercise.

I do not think single leg RDL’s train strength very well if strength is measured by 1RM squat, bench, or deadlift, but you definitely get better at a single leg RDL. If your DL max is over ~400, I have concerns you’re underloading this exercise slot.
