Slightly decreased WBC

Hey everyone,

While checking for something else, my doctor told me that my WBC was slightly below the normal range (3.3). She ordered a repeat of that test which I haven’t gotten the result yet. I had a similar test a couple months back (3.1) which was repeated and then fell in the norm (4.4).

I have no symptoms and generally feel good, but I am very worried about the results. Can anybody here ease my mind on how bad this could be ?

This can be normal in many individuals (e.g., benign leukopenia / benign ethnic neutropenia), but with this isolated value alone we cannot comment further on this. If you are currently asymptomatic, and if your doctor has not sent you to the hospital based on their testing, there is no reason to panic over this.
