Hello, I’ve had this happening for almost a year by now. Basically, when I squat (low bar) My spinal erectors/lowback area gets a MASSIVE pump, like I cannot even stand up straight without it feeling fatigued afterwards, makes squatting heavy hard sometimes, I still manage to keep getting stronger though. After this, days after, ill go pickup something even light, or bend over, I get a massive back pump just as I did while squatting, ( i don’t want to say it “hurts” per say, but uncomfortable). Could this be caused by spinal flexion in the bottom position of the squat? Near the bottom, my lowerback noticeably like curves downward in the squat. (I don’t think Im going too low either). Also, this doesn’t flare up during the deadlift at all, but one thing I changed recently in my deadlift, is I had my hips way too low, haven’t had a chance to see if that changes anything, but meh. Looking for any info on what might possibly be the cause, thank you !

Hey @Snewmy ,
Thanks for the questions.
What’s your recent training history?
Do you have any concerns about the soreness you are experiencing?
I wouldn’t get too concerned with noticing your low back rounding in the bottom of the squat as it relates to pain and injury. This happens regardless of the outward appearance of the spine: THE LUMBAR AND SACRUM MOVEMENT PATTERN DURING THE BACK SQUAT EXERCISE (all caps for emphasis hahaha).
My history is a long one. 2-3 years of horrible bodybuilding routines, 1 year of messing with a split routine, and a year of trying to run the linear progression correctly, and then now we are at where i’ve been running the bridge, starting my second round. Sorry I should have been more specific in my question. I am not concerned of this injuring me, I just want to make it stop because it is very uncomfortable, and pops up everytime I do anything that requires bending over.
