If I were to choose step ups as a supplemental squat, what height would be a good starting point? Should the box/bench be roughly knee height, a few inches below the knee, or high as you can stretch up? Say for instance you can do knee height at body weight, or 4-6 inches below knee with dumbbells, which would you choose? Thanks in advance-Ray
There’s no “correct” height here, but if it’s a new movement for you, I’d start on the lower side (particularly if using added external load like dumbbells or barbell/SSB weight) so you can learn the movement and technical execution before raising the height later on.
