Stiff Leg Deadlifts

Any of you guys ever have trouble with these? I really like them, but I always seem to piss my back off doing these no matter how much I take my time. I am currently doing the Hypertrophy template at maintenance calories to hopefully shed some fluff which is long over due, and I did not want to have to only do RDLs.

Yes it happens but not so often as in your case, I’d recommend posting a form check to see whats wrong them film all your sets and analyse after. In my case it happens when I try to pull with my arms or if the bar too far from mid-foot

In your case it may be many things, do you think you can flatten your low back well in a good positioning, have you tried to widen your stance just a little bit ?

Yea I’ve played around with the set up. I just set up the same way I do for deadlifts, and deadlifts never really give me an issue. I’ve also been to a SS coach before and the only corrections I got was tighten your belt and some tweaks on my bench and press. They really liked my SQ/ DL. Back tweaks have been a common thing on and off but never really the case from DLs, and only twice while Squatting did I piss my back off. Coincidently those times where around finals and I was highly stressed out. I’ll post a video next time I train them.

Wear a belt if you back gets pissed off at you. Maybe tempo it slightly, in the sense of a 2 second eccentric and 2 second concentric. Maybe you need to strip the weight a bit as well.
