Strength training after a C-section

My wife had a C-section ten days ago. It was unplanned, but she and the baby are doing well.

Current restrictions from the Doctor are lifting no more than around 20# for eight weeks.

Current physical activity guidelines are to walk as tolerable.

She is doing well, but she would like to get her strength back when appropriate. I have read online that kegal exercise after a week are recommended. How about light core bracing? Can she do bird dogs or planks, or other isolation work for her core? What about lower body exercises?

Congrats on the new addition. That’s awesome!

I don’t feel comfortable giving recommendations via a forum response, as I’d want to discuss specifics with the individual, have regular follow up, and so on. This is something we do via consultation with either myself or our OB-GYN, Dr. Loraine Baraki. Sorry about that.
