Strength Training and Preparing for Police Academy.

I have a question in regards to preparing for the police academy. I am 29 years old, 6’1 feet tall, and weight 224lbs. I recently went through novice LP and am currently on week 3 bridge. My plan is to at the very least finish the bridge. Part of the requirement to get accepted into the police academy is to be able to run 1.5 miles in at least 14:55. I did the run on January-19th-2018 and unfortunately I did not pass my time was 15:40. I will be taking the re test again on March-22-2018. I did not run at all in preparation (which was a huge mistake on my part) I did all of my conditioning on an assault bike or rower. I know now that at that the very least I have to do some form of running. My question is when would I incorporate conditioning, how much would I incorporate, and what type of conditioning? Also would running one of the GPP endurance templates help me in preparation?

I would start running now during GPP days. I think it’s pretty straight forward- run 1.5 miles 2x/wk from now until you take the test and you’ll be fine. I don’t think you need anything special at this time and sure, there’s some nuance™ here…but this is an easy way to do it.
