Training for a Police Academy while staying strong

Good Evening,

I’m approaching my second time completing SSNLP. (I finished my first SSNLP when I was in the military but due to the nature of my job I wasn’t able to train frequently enough ) I am preparing to enter a police academy by the spring or fall of 2019. I want to begin training for the different physical aspects of a police academy like running, push ups, pull ups etc. now. I could be wrong but I feel that the longer time I have to train up to the conditioning standards is better than being forced to crunch the conditioning in within a few months. I hope this year or so of time until I enter the academy will allow me to make the best choices when it comes to training.

I was looking at the templates available for purchase and the 7 Week Endurance Template seems to be the most appropriate for me. Am I correct, or am I far off in left field?

Also, if they’re and members who are law enforcement/ first- responders, any input for how you balance strength training with conditioning would be much appreciated.

Squat 325 3x3
Press 190 3x3
Bench 260 3x3
Deadlift 360 3x3

Thank You.

Yep, that’s a reasonable place to go if you need high levels of conditioning.

There was also another recent thread from a trainee in the police academy you can find in this forum.

Thank you, I am looking forward to starting the template once NLP ends. Is the 7 week endurance template something that can be repeated over and over while increasing strength and conditioning? If not, what other programs might be inline with my training goals?

Nothing works indefinitely, but you can certainly repeat it and see how well you respond.
