I am taking a class at the moment where I have to memorize a ton of information ie. Too much to put on flash cards or anything like that. Just chapter after chapter of information in my graduate program. Since you all are also academics I was wonderimg if you had any tips or strategies on how to maximize how much of the material I am retaining. I can read fpr about 30 to 45 minutes then it starts to feel.unproductive, like I"m just looking at words on the page. I assume that you all have had experience with thia considering the high volume of reading in medical school. Thanks for any insight.
Pre-made flash cards (anki or similar), question banks to retain concepts, or making flash cards and using spaced repetition learning would be my recommendation.
I don’t think reading the material without incorporating it into a question or concept that you can repeatedly expose yourself to is high yield.
