Sugar!!!

I work construction. In the summer it’s hot and sweaty. We work 12 hours. Sometimes we are inside in humid conditions. Even my tool belt gets soaked through.

The dangers of sugar are all abundant. However with how much I sweat and the intensity of the job I drink a lot of Gatorade. Often I drink a gallon a day and am still pretty thirsty at times. Also I notice a significant decrease in energy and alertness when drinking only water.

I am currently trying to shed some weight which is going well. Generally I base my diet on subjectively eating to 75% satiation 3 times a day with some snacks.

I enjoy meal prepping and following my macros.

But…

when figuring out a 2500 kcal diet almost all almost all of my carbs are used up with the Gatorade.

Given my my occupation is this a problem?

I plan on eating oatmeal and protein powder for breakfast as I generally am not hungry then then eating lean protein low carbohydrate veggies and nuts for my other meals.

Depends, what are you trying to do body comp wise, training wise, and what are your current stats?

You might try just doing sodium in your water with a few doses of BCAAs instead of gatorade and see how that works for you.

I will.

Thanks!
