Tempo squat warm-ups

I completed the Bridge 1.0 a couple of weeks ago and now I’m on week 2 of the 12-week strength template. I have a question about how best to warm up for the 3-0-3 tempo squats. For yesterday’s workout I did the following 4 work sets for tempo squats: 170x10@7; 180x10@8; 190x10@9; 180x10@8. Before the work sets I did 4 sets of 10-rep warm-ups, so all in all I did 80 reps. Could I get away with doing fewer warm-ups for the tempo squats, maybe 2 sets of 10, just do reduce that volume a bit? I think I was adequately warmed up by the time I started the tempo squats since the day’s workout started with a deadlift single of 450 at rpe8, followed by 5x5 deadlifts with 360 pounds.

For reference, based on my current lifts my estimated 1RM for the competition squat is 373, which is close to what I did at a meet last year (375). I missed a few weeks of training last summer and in the fall and I’m now working my way back up.

Thanks again for providing so many great resources.

I think that you could theoretically jump right into the @ 7 set since the squats are at the end of the session, sure.

Thanks–that’s a relief to hear!
