Thank you for answering questions on the forums!

I don’t have a question but I merely want to thank Jordan, Austin, Leah and team for taking the time to answer our questions!

I’m so grateful to get your nuanced expertise here and I read your answers to every post on the training forum.

I used to post on the BBM Facebook page but I prefer this moderated forum.

If I may briefly share how your templates and content have helped me: I started to do powerlifting “seriously” after I registered to do my first powerlifting meet at age 45 in May of 2023. (And it was your influence that encouraged me to compete in the first place.)

Before then, I’d never recorded my lifts and I hadn’t benched or squatted with a straight bar (I only used a football bar and a safety squat bar), and I hadn’t deadlifted without straps.

My last meet was cancelled so I did my own mock meet on Dec. 18: Kevin Kane | It’s been 2 months since I posted! My meet in Kingston was cancelled so I did my own mock meet at home. Squat: Did 225 kg, 496 lbs... | Instagram

I didn’t weight cut for the mock meet but I last competed at 87kg in the 90kg class. My mock lifts in the above video are:

  1. Squat: Did 225 kg, 496 lbs comfortably. (Depth might only be parallel though).

  2. Bench: Did 115 kg, 253.5 lbs for 3 tempo reps. I’m rehabbing my elbow so I don’t want to press heavier or faster just yet. I spent a month benching 115 lbs or less so I’m happy with my rehab progress. I trusted the process but I had doubts if I’d ever be able to bench again without pain. My PR is 276 so I’m getting close while feeling much better.

  3. Deadlift: Did 235 kg, 518 lbs. That’s 6 lbs heavier than my PR. I could have done more so I’m happily surprised.

I listen to every podcast as I walk my dog and I read every post here. Thank you for tireless work. You’re helping so many while creating a smarter fitness culture!
