The Bridge: Deloading and testing

Currently finishing up Week 5 of the Bridge going well. Definitely seen improvement. I see that in week 8 there are singles at RPE 8, but I was wondering if there was any way I could test maxes. Also, after The Bridge, I plan on doing the 7 week GPP Hypertrophy program. Would I need somekind of deload inbetween The Bridge and 7 week GPP Hypertrophy program?

Hello! Glad it’s going well. You can test your maxes, but that’s not our recommendation for this template. And moving into the hypertrophy template won’t need a deload week.

If I were to test maxes would it be after week 8 or in week 8.

We would not recommend either.

Thank you I guess I won’t be testing maxes then. Thank you for all the support you provide: the form checks, free programs and advice on forums. This really allows people like me at 16 who can’t afford coaches to train safe and smart.

On this point I regarded my 1@8 in week 8 as my maxes; as in maximum actual weight lifted. So in a sense, max lifts were tested in a @8 RPE scenario. It was enough for me to get my little “max test” boost and continued from there.
