Howdy Drs and BBM Community:
1.) I am 58 years young, height = 5’ 8.5"l, waist = 33", current body mass = 79.2 Kg (174#), estimated body fat 20%.
2.) Began SSLP 6-7 month ago @ body mass of 74 Kg(163#) and have increased my mass by 5.2 Kg.
3.) As of 12/6/17: Squat = 278#, Deadlift=360#, Poverty Press=145#, Poverty Bench Press=230#, Pendlay Rows = 225#, weighted dips BW + 35# x 3sets x 10 reps, Pull up/Chin up @BW#, 15 reps x 3 sets
4.) Using Gainzzz Rx as directed
5.) I am now doing The Bridge, on week 4 of the program. THANK YOU for making this program free
My question is regarding repetitions on the last sets for The Bridge, specifically for me on Rack Pulls and the Press. I frequently, not all the time do I fail to complete all the repetitions in the last set @8 for these two exercises. (Note: when I can complete all reps, last set @8 or @9, I add 5# to the exercise for the next week’s rotation, where I may or may not complete all the established reps for all sets for Rack Pulls or the Press)
a.) Should I increase the rest period, I use a standard 3:00 minutes between sets, to 5 minutes for all the sets for Rack Pulls and Press? Or,
b.) Increase the rest period between last set and previous set from 3:00 to 5:00 minutes only? Or,
c.) Lower the weight across all sets, enabling me to complete all the sets and reps? Or,
d.) Adjust the RPE to achieve completion of all the reps and sets? Or,
e.) It sounds like a technique problem, and I need to seek a qualified SS Coach? Or,
e.) Suck it up and move on, it is normal.
Your guidance and experience is much appreciated. Thank you in advance
