The role of inflammation for gains

So it seems that there is a general consensus that inflammation is necessary to create adaptations and get stronger/bigger, but what constitutes “productive” inflammation? When I take mild anti-inflammatories like curcumin or boswellia, I can train harder and recover better. When I used GHK-Cu and BPC-157 to heal my shoulder (both WADA legal by the way, confirmed with an officer), I felt nearly zero inflammation or joint and muscle soreness/aches outside the gym and I got much stronger fast - my volume tolerance and recovery went up a lot. I’m guessing that localized inflammation in the muscle tissues is good but not in the joints as well as systemic inflammation? I also feel much better cognitively and mood wise when I don’t feel beat up. (I don’t use NSAIDs anymore as they upset my stomach).

Unfortunately this is a huge, really complex topic that would require pages to discuss in sufficient detail. Perhaps we’ll add it to the list for a future podcast topic!
