I’m 40. 10 year ASCVD risk 0.6%. My ldl-c was 130. Based on my risk I don’t need lipid lowering therapy. However, I’m pulling all the lifestyle levers that I can ie; low saturated fat (almost none), 30-40 grams fiber daily, 34 inch waist, exceeding PA guidelines, etc. Other lipids were within normal limits. I understand my overall risk is low, but given that elevated ldl-c, plaque is being laid down. Should I take a statin? I understand that this is not medical advice and that this is for entertainment and education.

As you noted, we can’t give medical advice here…even if we call it edutainment. A consultation would be better-suited for a specific recommendation, which would require more information regarding your lab results, lifestyle, medical history, preferences, etc. For example, an elevated Lp(a) result even with otherwise mostly normal lipid panel may change management.
All told, if my LDL-C was 130, I’d be considering an intervention personally.
