Tracking calories and wholes Foods

Hi BBM Team,

I try to track my calories because I tend to overeat quite easily.
Now I understand that it is much more unlikely to overeat if you try to get your food in the form of wholes foods, because of the sheer volume you had to eat to get in as many calories.

I started to just put a variety of vegetables with the seasoning I like into the oven but I do not track the weight and thus the calories of said veggies because I lose the motivation to
track everything that has no barcode or every eggplant, onion, zucchini etc.
And in addition to that my wife also eats from it and I would even really know if I tracked the right amount.

But given the relativ low amount of calories veggies have would it be sufficient to just track Protei/Carbohydrates/Fat dense foods and just eat vegetables without really thinking too much about it ?

I think eating will always be a problem for me because my body doesn’t realy seem to tell me when I am satiated.

Thanks for some advice!

I think for weight management, counting Cals from fruits and vegetables is not particularly high yield. I do think some may benefit from setting a fiber goal and tracking fruit/veg to make sure that’s taken care of. This may be useful for finding a dietary pattern that’s more satiating to you. I also think it’s better to have some data rather than no data, e.g. you don’t need to have all the numbers be perfectly accurate. Guesstimating is fine.
