Training and supplements with epilepsy

Hello Doctors, 6 years ago I had a meningioma the size of a “small lemon” removed. About 4 years later my neurologist diagnosed me with late-onset epilepsy due to scarring from the surgery - I had a GM at the time. I am on Keppra and Depakote with Zoloft to counter the side effects of Keppra. The epilepsy is under control, I’m cleared to drive and I have made what I believe is a reasonable judgment call to get under the bar (with safety pins).

Lifting appears to have only positive effects. My question is regarding supplementation (let’s start with what is in Peri-Rx). I think my neurologist would give me a questioning look if I mention citrulline malate or beta alinine… I know from experience that creatine doesn’t seem to have any neurological effect, but I’m less familiar with the others and beta alinine seems to have more of a “sensory” side effect (tingling, which I believe is normal).

Are there any major concerns for the ingredients to interact with my medication or having a potential negative effect on my disease? I have thought about slowly ramping up to see how things go, but wanted to see if you have any immediate concerns.

Appreciate your time and thoughts.

I am not aware of any evidence showing that these substances would be harmful in this situation, but can’t say with 100% certainty.

If you’d like to check in more detail, you could look up the specific pages for Citrulline and Beta Alanine on Examine.com.
