Training post wisdom tooth removal

Hey all,
Second post on the forum, so I’m hoping for a response or some advice on this one. So, I’m on week 8 of bridge 3.0 and two weeks out from a wisdom teeth removal (November 21st). So a couple questions
1.Should I just run week 8 again next week just so I’m actually training next week.
2. For the first 3 weeks of the bridge 3.0 I thought the belt squat on day 3 was a squat with belt, doh. I’ve seen really good progress on this program either way so clearly it didn’t matter too much. Nevertheless, should I run the program twice to get the most out of it, and my money.

3.Lastly, what can my training post removal look like. I’m fully aware I shouldn’t take your advice over my own practitioner, but I’m still curious. They told me no heavy lifting for almost 2-3 weeks after, and seeing as my training and job is fairly labor intensive this can be a problem.
Thanks much for any response at all, your programs and advice have helped me greatly in my training. As a plant based lifter your nutritional recommendations are greatly appreciated.

BLL,

Thanks for the post and I hope you’re feeling better!

  1. If you’ve been out for two weeks and not training, I probably would either start the program over again or restart at the most recent low stress week.
  2. If you had good results, you could absolutely run it twice.
  3. Seeing as you’re 2 weeks out already- you’re probably good to train per your doc’s recommendation. That said, there’s no specific timeline here. Rather, any recommendation would be made up based on knowledge of the individual’s current status (medical and training), the procedure performed, and potential complications.

Sorry I must have worded this incorrectly, I haven’t gotten them removed yet. the 21st is my surgery date and my last day of the bridge is tomorrow. I was just wondering if I can run week 8 again or just another week just so I can keep moving for this coming week. Thanks for the response on the other two questions though!

Jordan, I think OP has a wisdom tooth removal scheduled in 2 weeks and is asking what to do once that occurs.

I have a related question since I am also up for the same procedure. Is the recommendation to avoid strenuous activity made because there’s a chance increasing blood pressure could dislodge the clots and lead tho dry socket?

Ah, sorry. We say “2 weeks out” and usually mean the procedure happened 2 weeks ago.

In any event, you could repeat week 8, sure.

You’ll have to ask your doctor why they’re recommending against physical activity, as most of this is made up outside of a bleeding risk.

It might help to ask the surgeon what counts as “strenuous” as a way to start the conversation. I was given similar instructions when I had my wisdom tooth (singular) removed. I asked if my warmup weights counted as “heavy” and went from there. We ended up settling on my cautiously working up until I felt pressure, bleeding, or discomfort. I had the tooth extracted on a Friday and had a normal workout on Monday (squat single at RPE 8).

No need to be sorry, but thank you. I always forget that I can do anything I please, lol. I appreciate the response
