Tooth extracted, what do

Good afternoon, hope all is well. Was on Week 5 day 3 of PB2 Second Gen 4 day, non-comp when I had to have a rear tooth extracted. Training was going great and I saw 1ERm’s going up on all lifts. Squat and DL were feeling especially strong and had momentum.

Unfortunately, training got stalled and I had to have a tooth extracted last Friday. The dentist told me not to lift for 7 days. No idea if thay was good advice, but reading about a the pain of dry socket made me nervous enough to follow it. Also, the restricted liquid and softs diet had me pretty tired as I found myself struggling to get enough calories, which was a weird feeling, lol.

Anyways, I missed days 3 and 4 of week 5, and have not lifted since last Thursday. Friday im cleared to lift. So I was going to do days 3 and 4 of week 5, but very light just to get moving and ease back in.

Then Monday of next week, train as normal. How would you go about training Monday of next week. I was thinking of just re-running week 5, and proceeding as normal.

However, it’s so close to end the of the block, I was thinking of maybe just going to Block 2.

I dont have a preference, and will just do whatever you advise. I’m just excited the tooth recovery is going well and anxious to start training again.

I don’t think you need to ease back into training or skip to the next training block, as this is not enough time or a severe enough “condition” that requires modification. IMO, you should pick up where you left off
