Training modifications post-op lipoma removal

Hi docs,

I am scheduled to have some lipomas removed but they are doing only one at a time. They recommend no strenuous activity for 2 weeks post op in order to prevent the sutures from breaking/disrupted. What constituted strenuous was very general.

if I can avoid going 6+ weeks without training, I would like to. Do you have any recommendations about how I could modify or accommodate my training in this situation? Been running Strength 3.

Thank you!

There isn’t really enough information here to give specific recommendations. This ultimately comes down to training the non-operative areas normally, and modifying the programming (primarily exercise selection and intensity) for areas affected by the procedure. It would be wise to temporarily avoid very high intensity activity involving the surgical area as tissue healing occurs; this does not mean the area cannot be moved at all, though.
