Hi there,
A 6-day “split” is a common pattern I see amongst the bodybuilding world but less-so in powerlifting. I suppose many do this if they’re sandwiching their GPP on days in between. It got me wondering why don’t more powerlifters train the competition lifts (or their similar versions) 6 days a week? Some schedules could be S, B, D, B, S, B or S, B, D, B, S/B, B/D and so on. I personally like to do this if it means cutting session times down.
Is it that for most people the volume they need wouldn’t necessitate such a schedule and so the volume spread would be too “thin” so to speak? Or is there something I’m missing in regard to recovery and stacking those lifts on the same day that has some kind of synergy to it?
