Training with a wrist injury

Hi all

Recently i have pulled something in my wrist and the doctor has told me that i cannot perform any training which would put stress on my right wrist for a month. Meaning i cannot do DL, presses and back squats.

I figured that that i will still be able to do leg presses and lower back/ab movements. However should i train only the left upper body half? Any insight or experience on that?

Additionally i had an idea that this month could be used for losing some fat, could this make my lifts regress even more?

Some info on me:
22yo
99kg
187 cm

1rep max:
Dl 180kg
Squat 150kg
Bp 107.5 kg
Press 65kg

Huge thanks in advance!

What was the specific diagnosis in your wrist?

How did they decide you can’t do anything with your hand for a month? Are you in a cast?

Thank you for the reply. The diagnosis reads as: M65. 94 Styloiditis radiii sex.

Not sure if that is even a diagnosis. The doc. Has perscribed me imobilization so i am wearing support to fix my wrist in place but it is not a cast.

They have also simply said “you will have to withdraw feom doing lifting with your right hand for 3-4 weeks”

I also had a punction in the wrist area.

Hope this helps and huge thanks for helping me.

What do you mean by a punction to the wrist area?

Overall this sounds like de Quervain’s tenosynovitis, and typically I wouldn’t recommend rest for this issue.

Can you provide more background information on yourself, onset of symptoms, location of symptoms, inciting event (if any), any recent trauma to the area, and what’s training looked like recently?

Happy to help.
