Hi BBM,
Around 14 months ago I fell on my left hand which resulted in a partial tear of my SL ligament in my wrist (it took a couple of months until I was able to get to a doctor and to do an MRI scan).
I was told by my doctor that no surgery was needed and that I could gradually return back to training. He said that the pain could last up to a year and that I should be working with a physiotherapist during my recovery (who also told me the same thing, and that I didn’t need to do any specific exercises for my wrist).
The pain in my wrist hasn’t improved in the past year, but I was able to do most exercises without serious pain (Except for exercises like skull-crushers which I feel a lot of pain if I try to do).
Today during my workout I felt a sharp pain in my wrist when I was moving the bar down from the squat rack to the floor with some weight on. It’s been a few hours since my workout and my hand now hurts more than it did after the intial injury (to the point where I can’t type or hold a fork with my left hand without feeling quite a bit of pain).
Any advice as to how to proceed from here would be much aprreciated.
Also, would it be a good idea to continue training as usual (I use wrist wraps heavy push exercises to support the wrist), or should I be taking time off of training that involves putting weight on my wrist?
Thanks in advance for any help!
