Training with sports hernia

Today my doctor diagnosed me with a sports hernia and gave me a whole lot of stretching to do. He said I can continue to train since my pain is a mild ache. He also said I should modify my program so I don’t further injure myself. With that said, I’m currently on week 4 of the press template. Could you guide me on if should cut down intensity/volume anywhere or cut a complete day out? Thank you guys!

Can you give us a little more detail on what your training history is and what your current symptoms are? Sports hernia as a diagnosis is somewhat ambiguous. You should be fine to continue on the press template but you may need to incorporate some supplemental activity to address you symptoms.

My training history, I’ve been training for 3 years, currently the last 3 templates I’ve ran have been (in order from oldest to now)12 week strength v2, 8 week HLM, and currently on 12 week press. On heavy squats I sometimes get a burning in my groin. It’s not really painful just discomfort. Mainly 1-2 on pain scale but noticable when squatting/deadlifting. My back has been rounding a bit more lately on deadlifts I haven’t trained GPP at all.
