Upper back too strong?

I don’t really feel barbell rows working my upper back, but I usually get sore from doing heavy deadlift. Deadlift has always been my strongest lift, and upper back have never been a weak point in my lift.

Is upper back work necessary, or can I replace it with other exercises to bring up my squat and presses?

I’m not sure that it matters where you feel barbell rows, though there are other options for “upper back” work, of course. What are your lifts and what program are you on?
