Volume vs Tonnage

Hi BBM crew

As a 42 y.o medical resident and father of two and some other liabilities, I generally prefer a more flexible style of programming as life-stress is fairly high and less predictable.

I know Jordan has previously said that volume is what counts the most. My question is whether tonnage still have some value in terms of tracking progress and gauging applied training stress, if you consistently train fairly heavy (RPE 7-9) whithin rep-range 3-8?

I don’t think I’ve ever used tonnage to guide program management, but you can track it and use it if you like. I just don’t think it adds any unique information for training stress or progress.
