I am doing the beginners template. When doing the warm-up sets it says 3 to 5 reps and in another example its shows doing reps to match the works set reps.
. Are we to do three to five reps no matter what the rep range of the work sets or we to try and match the work set reps as long as it doesn’t go over 5 in the warm up?
We would recommend matching the work set reps regardless of the #, e.g. it’s okay to go over 5.
I have a question about this. If the work sets are of 12 reps (as in the third phase of BP), do you recommend doing five sets of 12 reps of warm-ups prior to beginning work sets? I find this very fatiguing, but can keep trying. At the moment, I have been struggling to get 12 reps of OHP above, say, 70 lbs., despite having maxed at around 135 on OHP relatively recently. But I suppose doing 10 sets of 12 reps will be good for my development overall.
