I am currently running the beginner template. Is it alright to use my weightlifting shoes for deadlifts and barbell rows? It’s a bit of a hassle to go back to the lockers and change shoes, and my gym requires trainers to be worn at all times so I can’t deadlift in my socks.
I wear my Adidas Power Perfect II’s for almost all my deadlift sections, although I don’t own any flats.
Some argue that the heel lift recruits the quads more for breaking with the ground, while others object to increasing the RoM by that fraction of an inch.
@jordanfeigenbaum wrote up an excellent little piece on this in the 2016 Christmas BBM newsletter but I’m not confident quoting it in its entirety is appropriate
