I’ve recently been on a cereal kick to up my carbs and get my fiber in. I know you’ve mentioned that you’re a big cereal guy before in order to get in enough calories to maintain weight. Recently, I’ve been hitting the Raisin Bran pretty hard because the fiber per serving is pretty good(~3.5g per 120kcal). I am wondering if I am sleeping on some better cereal variations that still have a good amount of fiber.
I end up alternating between bran flakes, cinnamon life, and muesli. I don’t think there’s a particular cereal that is better than another outside of taste preferences.
Taste preference in the setting of reasonable amounts of fiber was what I was looking for. I understand that no cereal is objectively better than another in and of itself. I will be on the lookout for Cinnamon Life. Thanks, Jordan.
I may actually have something useful to contribute, toward that end. Kashi Go-Lean cereal has 12gP and 13g of fiber per serving (58g). Doesn’t taste too bad, either. I usually throw in a banana, ~50g blueberries, ~50g raspberries, and 1-2 packets of Stevia with 250-300ml of skim milk. It’s about 450kCal total and gives you a good jump nutrition wise on the day. My $0.02 / YMMV
Costco Ancient Grains pretty darn good too. per serving is 250 calories… 39g carb 5g protein 6g fiber 9g fat (of which 1.5g saturated). Load that up with bananas, blueberries, fat free yogurt and milk and you’ve got a decent breakfast rolling
