What is really special about oats?

Hello,
I have come across many fitness gurus claiming oats are part of their life since I engaged in physical activity. I have tried to include oats in my daily nutrition routine and it generally wasn’t consistent since it tastes not too good for me.
Anyway, I thought the suggestion that oats should be an important part of athletes’ life would be debunked after I met with BBM team because they are really good at dismissing unscientific claims.
What really happened was the opposite, I learned that both Jordan and Austin have incorporated oats into their breakfast.
I don’t know that if this is a choice of personal preference or because of the fact that oats are healthy. My question is what is really special about oats, why do you prefer oats amongst many other things?

Thanks,

Personal preference and oats having high fiber. There are other foods you can include in your diet that are also health-promoting.

I’ve gone from not enjoying Oats to it being a my “go to” breakfast. The night before, I scoop a cup of oats with a handful of raisins, couple scoops of plain whey (I like Goat Whey) and some milk. Store in fridge. Then in the morning, add a fresh banana and blueberries you have a solid breakfast. Recipe inspired by BBM overnight oats discussions.

Another vote for overnight oats. My standard breakfast is 3/4 cup oats and 3/4 cup milk stored in the refrigerator overnight. In the morning add a scoop and a half of whey and, if available, some blueberries.
