que pasa hombres?! Im looking for shoe RECS. Squating, Lifting, conditioning. Im a chuck taylor guy, my first experience with lifting shoes was a bad one. I had ordered a pair of positions that ended up being a giant pain in the ass, but the company came through and all is good. One problem I’ve been having is sizing, toe width being my main concern. I have Brazilian jiu-jitsu feet(broken toes and swollen knuckles) even my chucks cause some pain. I just tape my feet and suck it up. Still I’m on the look out for something else. Opinions on some sort of crossfit shoe maybe? hell i don’t know… also Belts!
I like my power perfect II’s better than my adipowers because the adipowers toe box is too tight. Love my SBD lever belt but it isn’t worth the price in my opinion.
I don’t have any issues with shoe fit, so I’m not sure I have anything to offer there.
I have a single-prong, 10mm, 4" belt from Pioneer/Genuine Leathercraft – I love it. Would definitely recommend.
Nike romeleo 3 shoes , absolutely love them. Inzer lever belt 13mm. STrong knee sleeves , Norse fitness elbow sleeves and wrist wraps.
Power perfect II’s lifting shoes
Strength Shop dual prong 4 inch wide 10mm belt. It is fine. I didn’t know any better so got the dual prong rather than single. In time I may replace this.
Iron Mind Sew Easy straps (still breaking them in)
SBD short flexible wrist wraps. Once I can bench press more than say bodyweight (say 90kgs to 100kgs) I may get long flexible wrist wraps.
Vivobarefoot trainers for deadlifting and general gym and GPP work. I like barefoot shoes.
Chalk ball, one of the mesh ones, and chalk liquid (almost finished)
I don’t use knee nor elbow sleeves.
Just placed my order today for a pair of Romaleos. Strong knee sleeves, Strong wrist wraps, cheap belt from Amazon.
Schiek Neoprene Belt (really good!)
SBD knee sleeves, haven’t been able to squat without them since I tore my knee
Metal wrist wraps (cant remember exact model)
Some tiny Polish manufacturer made my WL shoes
Also have some Gorilla straps, but I haven’t used them since my WL times
I have a pair of Romeleo IIs and they are narrow in the toe box - so are the new Reebok lifting shoes. i have a 20-year-old inzer belt (prong)
Romaleos 3. They don’t seem to get the love that the 2s get, but I think they’re great. I use Merrell Road Glove shoes for deadlifts which are my secret weapon. They are minimal sole shoes but actually have some decent arch support and provide stability. I use a 4” single prong Best Belt. I use a chalk ball off Amazon and haven’t had a need for straps, sleeves, or wraps yet. Best workout investment has been my Apple AirPods, hands down.
I’m still on an old cardillo belt, double prong. Total BB belt but my budget is being used on shoes right now. I found a pretty nice pair of Romaleos at thrift store believe or not, of course they were too small. I’m insanely flat footed, zero arc. How should that be taken into consideration? Thanks for all the response guys!
This is what I carry in my duffel bag:
- Adidas Adipower
- Adidas Samba
- AMC Panda Chalk Bag
- Best Athlete Belt
- IronMind Strong-Enough Straps
- SBD Knee Sleeves
- SBD Stiff Wrist Wraps
- Sling Shot
I painted my Samba to match the colorway of my Adipower, and over all theme. The Samba are for deadlifts.
The Sling Shot and straps are recent additions. Wished the straps were red and black.
Dont get these then. Great bit of kit, but like jamming your foot into a Lotus Shoe (if you have chunky feet). Had mine for about four years and they dont stretch, which I guess is the idea.
I take a US 9 motocross boot, snug, but good once they break in, but even in 9.5, the Power Perfects are tight in the toe box.
I have the Nike Romaleos 3 and they work great. I also have the rogue ohio belt and could not be happier with it
I have adidas adipowers, stoic wrist wraps & knee sleeves (haven’t broken sleeves out yet), and a cheap rogue 4", 10mm belt. Plus soccer socks to avoid shin scrapes.
- Best Belts 4" Athlete belt single prong - perfect
- Rogue DoWins shoes (almost 10 yrs old) - they’ve been stalwarts, but it’s about time to upgrade.
- APT black mamba wrist wraps - fine; APT is gone, but I think these are the same as the Pioneer ones now.
- Rehband 7mm knee sleeves - good
- Fit four lifting straps - I’ve had other name-brand (Ironmind, etc.) straps and, strangely, these cheap ones off of Amazon are by far my favorite.
I just got a pair of Adidas Crazy Powers. They seem like a really nice shoe, for the price I paid for them. My first lifting shoes, still getting used to them. I am still to decide on using them for DLs or keeping my flat (indoor soccer) shoes.
Also I have some cheap straps and knee sleeves, chalk and a solid (but not durable at all) belt - its replacement will be my next purchase.
Amazon.com was having some odd pricing on the Adidas Leistung II’s. Price varied greatly by color and size. I got a pair of the all white ones in a 14 for $36.00. Normal price is $225 with usual sale prices in the $150 range.
They arrived yesterday. Check them out if your interested.
4” 13mm Best Belt - single prong
Adidas Power Perfect 2 & 3
Stoic Knee sleeves - love these!
Stoic Wrist wraps - don’t love these
Iron Mind Sew Easy wrist straps
Nike Romaleos 2 (love these and wear them for ALL lifts)
Best Belt, Athlete model, single prong
Wrist straps (used when my hands are tore up and for accessory movements as needed)
SBD wrist wraps, used sparingly
Pioneer 6.5 mm single prong belt - very comfortable for squats and deadlifts, good support, short break in time
Rogue DoWin lifting shoes - nice wide toe box (I wear ASICS 4E width running shoes for comparison)
Rehband 5 mm knee sleeves - light compression and keeps knee joints warm and happy, easy to get on and off, over priced like all knee sleeves
Chalk ball off of Amazon - still makes a bit of a mess, lasts a long time
Lock-Jaw Hex bar clips - love these, inexpensive and well made
1.25 lb microplates from SS forum - these are great for incrementing OHP
