After talking with Brett Gibbs about bench grip width for competition, has your opinion changed any on this topic? I believe you experimented some with this. Do you feel you stuck with a wider grip long enough to see if it produced a better bench? Any thoughts on experimenting further? Is there any merit in training with a narrower\normal grip and using a wider grip for the meet?
I think my opinion is the same, i.e. it’s probably more of a personal preference thing.
My best wide grip numbers were way off my closer grip numbers after 6 weeks. Would this have changed? Maybe, but I think probably not compared to just spending time training.
