Yet another shoulder question..

I have recurring throbbing pains radiating from left deltoid, the middle part (most pain here) and the anterior part (not only during the training but any type of lift over shoulder hight, but always trigggered by training). These pains tend to stay for a few weeks at the most and then be dormant for a while.
Previous it was most often triggered when doing bench press and almost any type of shoulder work. Switched to dumbbell press and it worked for the most part better with pains being further a part.

I switch back to bench press and also started doing overhead press few month ago (lifting at 70-80% but with better form) and it has worked great until a month ago. The pain is most often bearable so I try to ignore it as much as possible. I feel it even warming up with an empty barbell so going lighter doesn’t seem to be an option. However, when loading the bar over 60-65% the pain shifts from the middle of the deltoid towards the anterior part which is less painfull.

The second part of the problem is that I now also feel it just by holding weights, So this also effect my deadlift now (straps helps alot). I can’t even walk home with the grocery bags without puting down the bags after 3-4min walk to alleviate the throbbing some days. Sleeping on my side isn’t a pleasure either.

I know it’s hard to diagonse without an exam but any idea on what the issue might be?

Hey Jonas,

Thanks for the post.

There is no way to diagnose this without a physical exam and imaging, unfortunately. If it bothers you significantly, that’s what you need.

I knew it was a long shot, thanks anyway.

Most of the time I can work through the pain, so it is more of a distraction.
We will see how it progresses now that I have signed up with you guys.
