3-0-3 Tempo Squat purpose

I just finished the first week of the Bridge and so far really enjoy it. I must add that the tempo squats x 8 were brutal. Can I ask what the benefit/purpose of tempo squats for higher (than 5) is/are? I was pouring sweat and gasping for air after them and thought maybe they should have been scheduled on the GPP day as cardio :slight_smile: Thanks for all you all do for the community!

It’s just more squatting with a bias towards technique improvement, yet still contributing productively to strength development.
