530 Tempo Deadlift and a few other questions about the pivot week in Strength III

I’m on Week 7 of Strength III which looks like a pivot/low stress week. For 530 tempo deadlifts I found an old training log video of Jordan doing 5 count lowering/eccentric of the bar, 3 count pause at the bottom (the bar doesn’t actually touch the ground, similar to an RDL) and then a normal (0 count) pull/concentric. Is that the intended movement?

Also for the actual load of the 530 work, is the 50% load drop off the top set of the movement, or 50% of e1RM? I did 50% off the top set, and the 530 tempo squat and bench was sub RPE6, not RPE8-9 as intended (exact loading that I used - last week’s squat single was 177.5kg 1@8, this week 130kgx10@8.5, then 530 tempo 65kgx5 was… really easy). I’m not worried given it’s a low stress week, but just double checking

Yep, that’s it squib.

The 50% is an estimation of how much load to drop, but as always, use RPE to hone in on the right load for you

This was very helpful. On week 7 of this template now(historically done a few cycles of Powerlifting 2 and wanted to mix it up.) I was unsure of the 5-3-0 deadlifts as well. Thank you. Noticed my fatigue was getting fairly high and this week of higher rep work has helped recovery a lot.
